Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) located in Santa Barbara, CA is a private non‐profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to save the lives of cats in Santa Barbara County by providing shelter, veterinary care, behavioral support, adoption and foster services, education and community outreach. Development and Events Intern

The Development & Events Intern position is an excellent opportunity to work in a professional, non-profit setting, with a goal of assisting in fundraising and creating unique and successful events. ASAP is seeking someone with an interest in helping cats, though please note the position is not working in the shelter. Candidates must be able to be available through June, and preferably through September 2018. Flexible work schedule within the below requirements.

Estimated hours:
• 4 hours 2-3x per week (8+ hours weekly) for April and May
• 10-15 hours Week before The Bash (June 4th-8th)
• 10-12 hours Day of The Bash, Saturday June 9th
• 4 hours 2x per week (8 hours weekly) for remainder of June

Shelter Operations Manager

The Shelter Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all areas of a full service cat shelter; animals who pass through our ASAP benefit from a wide range of care including complete medical treatment, behavior assessment, socialization, daily enrichment activities and adoption services designed to match pets with people based on lifestyle and compatibility. Services including, but not limited to: intake, behavior, animal care, foster care, adoptions (including off site adoption outreach) and partnerships with other animal welfare organizations provide the necessary infrastructure to achieve ASAP’s mission.

The Shelter Operations Manager must coordinate across all program service areas to provide a quality of care and service that matches the ASAP mission. The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the level of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the total of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.
