Lost Cats
Losing a cat is every cat owner's nightmare. ASAP can help reunite you with your pet.
If you have lost your cat and have not reported it, you can call ASAP at 683-3368. Please give as many details as possible.
Please do not make multiple reports on the same cat, but feel free to call to check on your cat as often as you like (please let the volunteers know you have already filed a report). If you find your cat, please let us know so we can remove it from the list. We would also be interested in hearing the story of your cat's recovery.
We will be posting pictures of all the cats that have been found that have not be reunited with their owners and updating whenever we receive new information and photos, so check this web page frequently.
ASAP is now posting pictures of the new cats that have arrived at the Santa Barbara Animal Shelter on Craigslist three times a week. If you have lost your cat, please check our postings in the Pets section of the Community forum here.

- Be prepared to provide the following information:
- Date the cat was last seen
- Address or neighborhood where the cat was lost
- Breed of cat or length of hair (long, medium, short)
- Color of your cat -- if you're not sure how to describe your cat, please see What Color Is My Cat?
- Any other details about your cat that would make it easier to identify (ID chip, declawed, eye color, weight, markings, etc.)
- Sex of the cat and whether or not it is neutered or spayed
- Approximate age of the cat
- Whether or not it was wearing a collar
- Your cat's name
- Your name
- Phone number where you can be reached
- If possible, provide a picture of your cat, or email a small one to asapcats@yahoo.com
Please check at the shelter often! If healthy, your cat becomes adoptable after three full business days. Volunteers will do their best to make a match, but your description of your cat and ours are not always the same. You are more likely to be reunited with your cat if you come in and look often.
